Very pale colour. Honeyed Riesling nose. Lime, a touch of honey, Kabinet weight, possibly from a ripe vintage, 06? There's acidity hidden in there to balance the sweetness. Good. ***

Very pale colour. Floral, fresh nose reminiscent of viognier, all almond blossom Nd peach kernal. Far weightier attack than I was expecting. Not very long but quite full on entry. A bit blowsy and simple. **

Blind. Mid to pale straw. Chardonnay nose. Ripe , old world chard style. No, apparently it's new world so it must be cool climate. NZ? Decent. **1/2

Blind. Very pale colour. High-acid, low-petrol Riesling nose. Quite prominent acidity balanced by some sweetness. North European - Mosel or maybe Lux? Riesling anyway. Quite light and tart. **

Blind. One look, sniff and sip confirms this can only be poxed burgundy.

Blind. Pale straw. Chardonnay nose, though quite restrained and tight. Far more expansive on entry; really big, grippy, chalky palate. Texturally like a young GC Chablis but I think it's Cote d'Or. Lovely. ***1/2

Blind. Pale colour. Sense of corkiness on the back of the attack. 2/10 TCA but I'm in a minority of one on this. Shame because there's. Decent wine underneath.

Too warm so a bit difuse and not showing as well as previous bottles of this. ***

Blind. Washed out earthy colour, slightly cloudy. Seems a tad old. Old-wine sweetness on the attack, quite thin, decent acidity. Old burgundy, Cote de N. Chambolle or Nuits? (*)*

Blind. Full cherry colour, slightly hightoned nose. Again, a bit too warm. Reasonable acidity, some chewiness. Pleasant but not particularly distinctive, nice though. Syrah? **1/2

Again, a touch high-toned and warm (temp). Slightly choc-merlot on the nose, cherry fruit, quite smooth and rounded but too warm. **1/2

Blind. Full, deep ruby. Quite chocolatey. Carmenere? Soft, pleasant drinking. **1/2

Blind. Purple-tinged red. Quite fat and leggy. Old world. Southern French? Surprisingly smooth and rounded but lacks some zip. **1/2

Blind. Sauternes nose. Reasonable age, a correct but not generous vintage. 88? A bit medicinal. Ok. **

Blind. Light colour, fine bubbles. Quite a yeasty, slightly bready nose. Soft, slightly creamy mousse. A bit more of a prickle on the finish. Not an awful lot to this initially but it does start opening out after a few minutes. Seems quite low pressure so a cremant or a blanquette? Quite poised though. Good. **(*)
