(non-blind, vinturied and decanted) Initially very bright fruity nose, it became more smoky (or even oaky) after several hour in the decanter. On the palate this was very bright, smooth, with tart cherries, nice acidity and very smooth long finish with nice tannins. Really quite nice, not extremely tannic, but tastes very young and it shows some heat on the finish. Needs few years to soften. 90-91
(tasted blind, decant+vinturi) Vanilla, cherries and leather on the deep nose. Dark fruits and leather on the palate, nice dry tannic finish, with medium length.
(tasted blind, decant+vinturi) Complex nose of sour cherries with a bit of dogwood bloom. On the palate this had the best acidity of the bunch, dark fruits with a bit of old wood barrels tannic and dry finish, very long and very enjoyable wine. 91+
(tasted blind, no decant) Pure cherries on the nose, really nice medium body, smooth finish with a right dose of bitterness. This is an amazing QPR. 89-90
(tasted blind, no decant) Much lighter than the rest of the wines in the tasting. Not much on the nose except some minty hints. On the palate light with hints of coffee liquor and bitter finish. After few hours it improved slightly, maybe it should have been decanted. The score reflect the initial tasting.85-86
(tasted blind, ringer, vinturied) Strong coffee, some wood on the nose and some raspberries (this is after one hour in an open bottle, right after opening this had a horrible smell of burned wood and rubber). Much sweeter than the rest of the wines with medium body. Real surprise, but after few hours it was falling apart.
