nose - floral, ripe grapes mouth - rich, toffee, butterscotch, like sucking on a candy that i cant take out of my mouth. not my style but others might like.
tasted blind nose - white flowers, caramel mouth - drinks terrific, quite complex and even having hard time describing it. i think the essence of this wine is that it has great balance. not heavy at all. honeycomb on the finish. a rather discombobulated tasting note, no? it means i need to get a few more bottles. I had pegged it as being French.
tasted blind very stinky nose. 'crotch' per evan. 'sauerkraut' per doug. some green pepper in there as well. mouth - huge smoke flavor verging on unpleasant. On its behalf it does have some nice pit fruit flavors, however the primary smoke flavor overwhelms. Its as if someone added a little bit of hickory smoke sauce. Will revisit to see how it does with aeration -- still stinky after several hours opened but has mellowed a little. I pegged this as being french. i'm curious how this would fare with a decade of cellaring
nose -perfumed. per lisa 'lemon sherbert' mouth - juicy white pit fruit, good long finish where acidity and creaminess battle it out. Ultimately this wine has an undeniable butter backbone, though i find it elegantly done and quite like the way it has turned out.
tasted blind nose - ripe pear, honey mouth - strong custard predominates. rich but well balanced. Creme brulee / buttered popcorn flavors on the finish. Buttery but well done.
