All wines were tasted blind. My favs were the super tuscan and CdP.

  • 2007 Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Tenuta di Castiglioni Toscana IGT 90 Points

    Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT

    This smells great. Rich, dark blue and and black fruits with slight licorice notes. As it opened it developed some leather/tobacco notes and the tannins really started to stick out. Great QPR. I will try to wait a couple of years before opening another.

    There were two camps at the table on this. Ken and I enjoyed it while Ann and Kelly did not. Great aromas of ripe fruits and that honey quality I get on some older wines. Lots of fine tannins and just slightly a little hot. Ann and Kelly didnt prefer the raisiny ripe fruit that reminded them almost of amarone.

  • 2004 D'Argenzio Zinfandel Baldacci Ranch

    I enjoyed this more when I tasted it at the winery. This was a little too over the top for me this time. Lots of very ripe fruit with some spice. Reminded me of a Turley actually. This was Kelly's WOTN and my least favorite.
