    France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur

    This wine was absolutely amazing several years ago but it has been on the downhill slide ever since. This showing is the least impressive yet however my opinion seemed to be much more harsh than those around me. Golden yellow color. Aromas of orange and cherry. Citrus flavors with some peach and pear notes. Possessing a honeyed botrytis character. Slight tartness on the finish. Oxidized. Falling flat for me tonight. Drink them if you've got them.

  • 2000 Clos l'Église (Pomerol) 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

    Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruit and green olive. Tastes of blackberry, cherry and anise. Earthy mid palate. Medium bodied. Smooth finish with some length. The green olive character was a touch off-putting for me but that is my own personal hangup. My least favorite of the three Pomerols this evening.

  • 2000 Château La Conseillante 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

    Deep ruby color. Sweet black fruit nose. Tastes of blackberry, cherry, and raspberry. Intense mid palate. Long complex finish with nice depth and elegance. My favorite of the flight of 2000 Pomerols.

  • 2000 Vieux Château Certan 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

    Dark ruby color. Earthy blackberry aromatics with some cedar notes. Tastes of currant, cinnamon and spice. Refreshing acidity. Nicely balanced. Medium bodied. Backwards. Firm tannins. Massive structure with a powerful closed finish. With some time this wine will be unbelievable. But for me, coming in a close second behind the 2000 La Conseillante.

  • 2000 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

    Dark ruby color. Black cherry nose. Blackberry, cherry and currant with some leather notes. Incredibly complex on the mid palate. Rich elegant finish that last more minutes. Simply amazing. My personal favorite of the Left Bank 2000's and runaway winner for WOTN.

    Dark ruby color. Blackberry nose. Black cherry and currant fruit. Firm tannins. Medium to full bodied. Well balanced. Rich mid palate with a long elegant finish.

    Hungary, Tokaji

    From 500ml. Dark brown color. Nose of orange and Myer lemons. Tastes of tangerine, lemon and lime. Incredible complexity. Rich and powerful citrus dominated finish. Simply outstanding.
