Winery Tasting: Imagery Estate Winery

First stop of the day. First time to Imagery. No appt; didnt plan to go. Though relatively small, the grounds were well maintained. Great tasting room and gallery with interesting art that also appears on the labels. Probably one of the most inviting tasting rooms that I've seen.

Staff was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. $5 for 5 tastes among 11 wines

• 2003 Imagery Estate Winery White Burgundy

  USA, California, North Coast

  Tropical fruit inc pinapple; oak; butterscotch. Great wine for a hot day. Most interesting white of the trip(*)

  Strawberry on the nose and palate with herbaious finish. Not my favorite of the tasting. Yet to taste an appealling Cali Sangiovese()

  Bright fruit, rhubarb, strawberry, herbs, spice, with a sweet finish. KAB enjoyed.

  Dark fruit, herbs, and spice with vanilla on the finish. Preferred the Sunny Slope Cab.

• 2001 Imagery Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Sunny Slope

  Dark fruit, chocolate, slightly tannic. If tasted blindly may have guessed Zin based on the big fruit, but nevertheless very enjoyable. The winemaker declared this his best Cab to date. (1)

Best tasting of the day. Didnt buy any wine, b/c planned to end our tour in at the Sonoma Green Market, but will return to make a purchase. Wound definitely recommend; look forward to returning
