• 2007 Couly-Dutheil Chinon La Baronnie Madeleine 87 Points

  France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon

  nose: a bit tight with tones of herbs, vegetables, red cherries, and some bits of red florals. Decent depth with a more subtle style
  
  taste: very good medium feel with medium+ acidity and balanced tones of red cherries, herbs, berries, and tones of red florals
  
  overall: a very good chinon. Better than what I had at a trade tasting last year, this has a nice soft side to it that is rather nice. This has a nice ruby color to it and saw about an hour in the decanter before consuming

• 1995 Podere Scopetone Brunello di Montalcino 92 Points

  nose: beautiful and captivating nose of dried florals, red cherries, roasted herbs, anise seed, perfumes, incense, and a good amount of potpurri. Very well layered and very aromatic right now
  
  taste: mature with lovely tones of dried florals, red cherries, anise seed, perfumes, potpurri and bits of dark red fruits. The acidity is still very noticeable
  
  overall: a beautiful and mature brunello. medium bodied with medium+ acidity and very lovely with a demure feel. This is an elegant brunello at its apex, but should hold for a good while

• 1982 Château du Tertre 91 Points

  France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

  nose: lovely and balanced nose filled with leather, cedar, dark red cherries, bits of cassis, dried florals and a touch of spice box and a bit of barnyard tones as well
  
  taste: demure and medium bodied with soft tannins and medium acidity with pretty tones of red cherries, dried florals, spice box, leather and cedar tones underneath. It gained a bit of weight the longer it was open
  
  overall: This was decanted for sediment and drank right away. The cork was soaked and I wasn't able to get it out in one piece. There was noticeable bricking on it while having a light ruby color. This was a real lovely and mature margaux that screamed margaux when smelling and tasting it

• 2002 Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl 93 Points

  France, Alsace

  nose: rich and honeyed nose with apples, honeycomb, pears, minerals, spice tones, and bits of white fruits. Great layered tones that one would expect from a zind humbrecht
  
  taste: plush and regal tones of apples, pears, minerals, white fruits, and bits of peach blossoms with a elegant medium feel and medium/high acidity
  
  overall: a classy wine. This wine has a nice medium/gold color and it took a little bit to open up. Great aromatics and balance on both the nose and palate, this comes off as having a long way to go

A real nice variety of wines and all of them showed fairly well. The chinon was really opening up by the end and needed a longer decant. The brunello was great right off the bat and the du Tertre needed a slight bit of air to really get going. The ZH showed like one would expect a ZH to show, which was damn tasty
