    Apples at first, then lemons and limes. Great, crunchy lively stuff. Taut and delicious. 90+

    You pour this blind and no one is going to guess Beaujolais Villages. Maybe a cru, but this is amazing stuff. Fantastic aromaticas. The structure on this is amazing. It tastes like Gamay, but it's so much more serious then almost anything else you get from the grape. 89+

    Tar, smoke, almost a plum tomato thing going on. Really intense, even over the top for some palates. Tannic. Not really my style, especially at this price point.

  • 2006 Château Rayas Côtes du Rhône La Pialade 90 Points

    Light bodied, with a beautiful, spicy nose. It was fun to contrast this next to the '07 Feraud-Brunel CDR Villages. This is all about elegance and spice and earth. A beautiful CDR. 89-90

  • 2008 Gilles Robin Crozes-Hermitage Papillon 91 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Crozes-Hermitage

    Oh boy, hello black pepper on those soaring aromatics. I really could just sit and smell this wine, and not drink it. But drink it I must. It's a savory meaty wine, but also displays a terrific juiciness. Great spice. So well balanced. Beautiful stuff. 91+
