Introduction
Mrs. dontime was out of town, so dontime decided to visit a favorite BYOB to sample the wine by the glass menu. Owner/bar tender was gracious enough to let me sample three whites and three reds at no charge.

Closing
Whites were clearly favored to reds. At $5.00 - $6.50 per glass, the reds left a lot to be desired. Restaurant remains one of my favorit BYOBs.
2009 Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc Regional Collection Marlborough 87 Points

Friday night tasting. Very light in color. A bit of malt on the nose at first, quickly giving way to melons and peach. Crisp and light in the mouth with predominate flavors of peach and green tea. Refreshing summer pool side wine.

2007 Sartori di Verona Ferdi Veronese IGT 89 Points

Friday night tasting. First experience with a garganega. Greenish yellow in color. Medium mouth feel. Mineral and stone fruit dominate the nose and palate. Gripping finish that lasted longer than the other whites tried tonight. I'll be looking for additional experience with this grape.

Friday night tasting. Light in color with a very subdued nose of mineral stone. Oily in the mouth with notes of stone, grass and a bit of lemon.

Friday night tasting. Medium red in color, light mouth feel. Straight forward fruit with little character or redeeming qualities. But then its $8.

Friday night tasting. Dark purple in color, violet at the edges. Prunes on the nose, with notes of vanilla and plum in the mouth. Silent finish.

Friday night tasting. The worst of the lot, purple in color, some fruit, but hardly a bomb. Nothing to start, nothing in the middle and no end.
