Two half bottles which I'll note together. The only difference was some sulfur on the second, which made it take longer to open up. Interestingly, more backward and less honeyed than the last full bottle I had late last year. Quite classic seashell aromas, firm but already developing great texture, and subtle ripeness of fruit. Outstanding and poised for a great run.

Deep and primary looking. Great tart cherries on the nose. Crunchy red Chambolle fruit and some early secondary perfume. My word, this has so much more palate presence and intensity than you'd expect from village wine. More than approachable, makes me dream about what the '99 crus are like from Roumier.
Medium yellow. Splendid mix of honey and quince. Sweet but balanced by exquisite acidity. In pristine shape and I imagine this could go for at least another 20 years. Magnificent late harvest Vouvray.

France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Disgorgement date unknown. Light color. Lively and frothy with orange citrus fruit. Dynamic and long. A beauty.
