  As before, pale, light, full of grapefruit, lemon, and herbs. Authentic, crisp, satisfying Sancerre.

• 2009 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé

  Oh man, this continues to put on weight and the red fruit behind the watermelon rind deepens. Best showing yet.

• 1989 Joël Taluau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Cuvée du Domaine

  France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil

  Magnum. Consistent with my notes on the last bottle. Not necessarily a great wine, but definitely a great summer choice due to its weight, excellent acidity, persistent light red fruit, and complexity imparted by graphite and rosemary. Once again, a bottle that brought a smile to my face.
