  • 2007 Château de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel 87 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône

    Double decanted and re-corked for 30 hours before consumption. Lighter in color than expected. Dirty nose. Notes of strawberry, leather, orange peel. Medium body. Disjointed finish with high acid, will this resolve? Forget for 2 years.

  • 2007 Domaine des Aires Hautes Minervois-La Livinière 90 Points

    France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Minervois-La Livinière

    Double decanted and re-corked for 30 hours. Dark midnight purple in color (Syrah). Plush, dense black fruit with notes of meat and garrigue, firm oak presence. Med-Full body. Palate of black and blue fruit, finishes with pepper, while the fruit disappears in a glycerin envelope.

  • 2006 Cuvée du Vatican Châteauneuf-du-Pape 92 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Double decanted and re-corked for 30 hours. Color showing first signs of maturation (orange flecking). Nose: Crazy complexity with great lift. Red berry, watermelon, prune, cologne and smoky caramel. Incredible clean finish with great balance and length. Lip-smacking good. Young with a promising future.
