Introduction
A great mini offline with Minneapolis Wine Club Members. Great discussion and everyone had a favorite wine of the night. Not a bad wine in the bunch and no corked bottles again.

2009 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc 91 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Grass, honey dew melon, floral and tropical fruit. Nice acidity and crisp finish. Balanced but for the price as stated before I am not a huge buyer of this wine.

2006 Domaine Marc Greffet (Moillard) Pouilly-Fuissé 89 Points

A nice wine with apricots, floral, lemon and minerals. Medium finish and much better 2 hours after opening the bottle.

2005 Tim Smith Wines Shiraz Barossa Valley 94 Points

Another great showing for this wine. Blackberries, black pepper, cherry and coffee on the nose. The palate is fruit forward in style and I love the concentrated, long finish. Certainly a bottle that will improve with some time.

2003 Massena Shiraz The Eleventh Hour 93 Points

Black fruits, raisins, scorched earth, and charcoal on the nose and palate. The only flaw is a lot of spice on the palate which wasn't as bad on a revisit one hour later. This is drinking really well right now.

2005 Kaesler Shiraz The Bogan 93 Points

Not impressed with an 04 a few months ago I was not expecting what we got out of the 05 which was amazing. Blackberries, blueberries, spice, coffee and black pepper are featured on this concentrated and balanced wine. Medium finish and it showed well all night.

2003 Heath Shiraz 100 Year Old Vine 90 Points
Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills
60% Shiraz/40% Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice wine with raisin, plum, pepper and spice on the nose. Very earth focused on the palate and medium finish.

2004 Schild Estate Shiraz 93 Points

2nd time trying this wine and it showed really well again. Blackberries, cherry, coffee grounds, pepper and spice. Still firm tannins and I see this wine aging well and expect this to drink through 2020.

2002 Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah 90 Points

Still drinking well and served blind. Oak, spice, floral and soy sauce. Medium finish and more earth dominated now but for $7 wine a nice surprise.

2003 Long Shadows Wineries Syrah Sequel 93 Points

Very nice wine with olives, minerals, pepper, raspberries and cherries. Good structure and holding up really well. John Duval created a great Syrah from Washington.
