Earth and spice on the nose. Nice mix of tart and dark cherries on the palate, good acidity and some floral notes (violets?). A tad astringent on the finish, but still very solid and seems likely to improve.
Strawberries on the nose with a hint of barnyard. Palate is a little tight and tannic, but there's nice acidity here and hint of sarsparilla. Seems like a few years would do it good, hopefully let some of the fruit emerge.
No nose at all. Palate is tight too and quite tannic, but dark cherries come through. Definitely needs time and could get a lot better as the tannins integrate.
