Wow this really tickles the palate with its distinct citrus flavor attack that it was difficult to guess the region this was from. Light but hopefully the complexity will emerge with age. Very nice quaffer!
This was so very young! Sweet, fruity without any secondary Riesling characters. A rather big wine. I had difficulty believing it was JJ Prum after it was revealed. Broadbent commented that this was 'fairly light' but I thought otherwise. Above expectations.
Extremely light straw color. On the palate the minerals shorn through with the seashell taste in the foreground. Amazingly good for a village. Quite distinctly different from a Raveneau, which has more ripe fruits on the palate. This wasn't as piercingly acidic like a Fevre as well.
Cork was soaked through with mold sticking to the capsule. Color was golden which definitely looks older than it's true age. Was worried about oxidization but clearly I was wrong. The nose had a oak, honeyed, overripe fruits character which brought to mind the Monty family. This was clearly a weighty iron fist but not a Batard because of an element of grace (from the acid spine?) which balances out the richness and power. Most of us guessed a Meursault from it's sheer buttery power, and a top premier cru at that. On the palate this showed lemon essence and massive mouth-feel. Finish was world-class, which I can taste even a day after. Couple of hours in the glass brought out further harmony between the nose and palate without showing any signs of going down. One of the few great white Burgs I had. Respect.

First impression on the nose was a wild game meat character which I felt was distinctly Gevrey. Some guys thought it was a Chambolle from the floral aromas. Tannins was silky however I felt it was more like a 1er cru from the medium-level concentration. I guessed a Clos St Jacques initially. A vintage character probably. Drinking well now.

I guess this was Vosne from the forward spice aromas. Couldn't nail the vintage as it didn't display the hard tannins of the vintage. Lacks a bit of complexity and more like a 1er cru from Vosne.

This was very tight despite being decanted for a while. A more serious and brooding wine compared to the previous Echezeaux. As befitting of the vintage, the extract was there and this needs more time to evolve.

Sweet! But still had the acidity to make me eliminate 03 as the vintage! One of the better 03s I've had. However this was not easy to guess as a Clos Vougeot I thought it was a Corton from its slightly animalistic and stemmy character.

This had a firm acid spine which lead me to guess either 1990 or 1996. Color was slightly browning so I guessed (wrongly) a 1990. Interestingly once unveiled I couldn't believe it was Faiveley because this was almost, dare I say it, ready to drink?

This wasn't blind. Color was pond murky. Amazingly aged! Truffles, soy and dried orange peel. This was so well aged that it was simply a pleasure to drink. This did not have the sheer power and richness but it held in the glass surprisingly well. Broadbent commented this vintage was overly tannic but look at this example to taste how well the tannins have softened. This wine is a reason why I love aged Burgs. But 34 years before reaching plateau? Hmmm...
Brown and golden. Auslese GK level of sweetness balanced with a unique salty/saline character! Definitely can't guess this was from Riesling. Does not have the dried apricot style of Tokaji. Very well-balanced and almost, dare I say it, refreshing?
