This was Ed's turn to start the new season and he had us drive up to his beautiful home. The weather was outstanding, not hot not cold and the evening was a great way to welcome in the new season. Chef Breanna Beike provided the food and matched the flights extremely well. My wine notes were very limited and all wines were served blind and without areation.
East and West coast oysters with other traditional accompaniments
Mint Creek Farm Veal Tenderloin Medallions, roasted garlic, local foraged mushrooms, creamy polenta and sweet corn bisque
Grilled Lobster, fresh thyme, camembert pommes pruee and dijon scented jus
Imperial Wagyu striploin and Wagyu Tenderloin: grilled strip loin with porcini mushroom Jam and Foie Gras Bordelaise, pan rosted tenderloin Au Poivre with spinach and french green lentils
Assorted Artisan cheeses: Laack brothers 11 year cheddar (Greenleaf Wisconsin Cow's Milk), Rivers Edge Jupiter's Moon (Logsden, Oregon Goat's Milk), Bel Gioioso Dolce Latte Gorgonzola (Denmark, Wisconsin Cow's Milk)
Three other wines: 1970 Ch. Clinet, L'Evangile and Mouton were all Flawed.
