Sep 2010 wine-buddies monthly meeting at Irit

Every hosting of Irit is something special. Irit is special. and we all knew she's going to surprise us once more... All we knew that it's going to be an Italian wines evening. I didn't have a clue an=bout the wines, except the dessert wine which I ordered as per Irit's request.

personally 0 below my expectation for Chardonnay

• 2008 Gaja Langhe Rossj Bass 85 Points

  Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

  light golden color, very light but pleasant aroma, not easy to identify as Chardonnay. Enjoyable, though not a classic Chardonnay.

wonderful selection. as the one who introduced the 'Paleo' to Irit and the others, IMHO, this Paleo was below what I'm used to from 2004 vintage.

The wines sequence was perfect - from good to better and best. The dishes were superb and made a perfect match with the wines. The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and pleasant. Another perfect host of Irit.
