Didn't live up to the hype. Really rusty and "nail driven." Muted fruit. Still some nice depth. If this were a $25 wine, I'd be satisfied, but not at this price.

Ok, don't get me wrong, this was a fantastic wine - but not a mid to high ninties caliber of vino.
The nose was quite aromatic with some nice fruit, but there was some strong rusty qualities that were just a bit offputting.
The wine was big and over the top, but not in a fruity or alcoholic sense - instead it was in a metallic earthy, black herbal tea way.
This is loaded with burnt blackish herbs. It almost smelled like an Earl Gray tea that was steeped for way too long.
The finish was long but extremely tannic on the back end. My mouth was completely dry to the point I needed water.
I like rustic wines, but the slight austerity just didn't work for my palate as much as I sincerely wanted it to.
This is a world class wine and I'm sure many people will love it, but something just wasn't completely clicking for me to merit this a higher score.

A really nice complex wine. Light cranberry and wet bathing suit smell.
Palate is dusty with layers of more cranberries, light roast espresso and that usual rusty nail flavor.

Wine of the Day.
The wine had superb precision and balance. Nice rich dark spicy raspberry pie, anise, cloves and earth.
The mid palate showed really well - some minerality and volcanic rock. The finish was in harmony. Nice acid and tannins.

I was blown away by this Labrusco. I see why they called it a "Lambrusca." It is feminine in style and really lush on the palate.
Fruity and just straight up yummy. Bright red fruit, some red rose petals. Pretty pretty pretty. I feel it was in perfect harmony in the finish.
