Introduction

Helinä brought the wines, I tasted double blind.

Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2007 Château Coursou 84 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. A rather dark garnet red to the rim. The nose had cassis, a bit of sour milk in the beginning, and a hint of licorice. The palate had lots of tannins, dark berries, cassis, a slight hint of smoke, quite acidic. This was quite enjoyable, a surprise when revealed. 50+4+9+14+7=84

  • 2009 VogaItalia Sicilia Quattro 74 Points

    Italy, Sicily, Sicilia

    Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. A dark red with a violet tinge to it. Rather fruity on the nose, strawberry, sweet, candyish. On the palate some tannins, rather like cherry juice, lots of fruit, somewhat sweet, with alcohol burning in the finish. Oh no, the shampoo wine again! Yuck, not for me. 50+4+6+9+5=74
