Introduction
Traci made it for her first OC Poker party. The format was blind grenache which gave us a chance to taste some CdP that we normally don't drink. Poker was fun, especially becase I won! Smig finish 2nd, and Aaron pulled up 3rd place.

tons of very fine sediment, clouding the wine. All the bottles in the store were that way. Nose has strong pear and fruit syrup aromas. Palate of stone, pear, and good acidity. Finish is very long for a white.
The wine has great overall complexity.
Too bad it clouds up so bad.

strong lycee fruit aromas and smooth palate but there was something odd going on that turned me off, it's the petrol. Didn't find it enjoyable.

lots of citrus and specifically grapefruit on the nose and palate combined with a good does of pepper. People thought I was nuts when I said that but then "ahh yes.. interesting" Tannins are well rounded at this age.

Blind - WOTN for a few of us in a big grenache lineup.
This wine has it all, the nose, bright fruit, long finish. You'll never confuse it for a CdP, it's new world all the way

Big over the top in your face cali grenache and I love it. I can understand if the old schoolers aren't excited about this wine but most people will say "wow".

Everyone that tasted this wine blind missed by a mile figuring it to be French old world for sure with a little age under its belt. interestingly it was one of my favorite "old world" wines of the night beating the pants off all the cdp. who says they don't make wines in California that reflect terrior. Bravo smig.
