Good Pinot Gris really is a balancing act, and this has got the balance down pat. The nose is a lovely base of pears and apricots, with a sweet floral nose that is predominantly jasmine. The palette has just the right amount of residual sugar to work with the big acidic backbone zing.

A little closed at this tasting, but a nice peach foreground with an interesting custard underneath it. A crisp mineral palette with fresh lemons and a ling concentrated finish.

This year the Crimson is a little more restrained that normal, and I think it's for the better. There are the usual fresh cherries, but there is also a complex Asian spice element that rounds it all out. The palette is spicy and bright with plenty of tannins. Good value.
