• 2006 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault Clos de la Barre 88 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

  Very close nose. Small hints of tropic fruit. After a few minutes in the glass, we got almonds also. In general – a weak nose at this stage. The palate was much better. Merely oily, with almonds in the mouth too. Good acidity and long finish.(106$)

• 2007 Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 89 Points

  Nose completely close! Nada! Good body, sharp with predominant acidity. Long finish. (106$)

• 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Porusot 91 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

  Like the Jobard previously tasted, but this one gives more of everything: excellent nose, mineral with nutmeg and gentle fruit. Very fresh in the mouth, both oily and sharp, very good acidity. Very good. (172$)

• 2006 Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru Clos des Epeneaux 92 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru

  Very interesting and complex nose, with layers of aromas, mostly floral with sweetness in the background. Light-medium bodied, with a backbone of strong and hard tannins which need a few years to soften. Very good but wait! (122$)

• 2007 Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos Vougeot 92 Points

  Powerful and crazy nose, mostly floral. Excellent palate, in harmony with the nose. Full bodied, very good structured and sweetness. Medium finish. Excellent (147$)

  Good nose, floral and earthy, still closed. Medium bodied, sweetness in the mouth, good balance. Very good. (158$)

• 2007 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot 90 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

  A very flatterer nose, with a lot of sweetness, but with lack of complexity for the moment. The aromas of this one didn’t remind me Burgundy at all (even though I was in a minority among the panel).Full bodied, very good structure with strong tannins. Needs a few years to soften and develop. (222$)

• 2007 Bernard Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin 94 Points

  The best one in the tasting. Excellent nose, with a lot of ripe fruits, flowers, farm and earth aromas. Medium bodied, superb balance and structure with an excellent backbone of silky and smooth tannins. (417$)

• 2007 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares 93 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

  Very elegant and refined nose, complex but does not erupt. Flowers and sweetness. The palate is also excellent and continues the nose. Medium bodied with well integrated and smooth tannins. Good acidity.(417$)

• 2007 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne 90 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

  Good nose with mineral and nuts aromas. The nuts continue to the mouth, good acidity.(164$)
