Introduction
A mellow evening with Kevin B over to the house to drink some assorted reds. A good time was had by all and the Argyle Nuthouse took top honors. Thanks Kevin.
2007 Rubicon Estate Sauvignon Blanc Captain's Reserve 89 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley
Nose: Citrus and melon, and hints of herbs and marshmallow. Palate: Good acid profile with the melon showing. Nice finish.

2006 Argyle Pinot Noir Nuthouse Willamette Valley 93 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Nose: Earthy with a toasty component and black raspberry. Palate: Creamy mouthfeel yet with a good acidic spine. Flavors of black cherry with none of the earth qualities of the nose. Medium to long finish. Very nice and my WOTN!

2007 Rubicon Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Captain's Reserve 91 Points

Nose: Earthy and dusty with assorted spices. Palate: Dark fruited with spice and a medium length finish. This started out very red fruited both on nose and palate. Interesting metamorphosis. Of the two Cabs this is most open for business now.

2006 Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label 91 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville
Nose: Blackberry with some dust underneath. Palate: Black fruits with firm yet accessible tannins, good spiciness, and a medium long finish. This took quite some time to open up but my sense is it will be showing best on day 2.
