Introduction
The wines in the first half were all they should be, all exhibiting a glorious, focused fragrance, but the back five were a disaster. The 2004s were superb. Bruna and her importer talked as though the 2001s and the 1998s were entering their drinking windows, but that's not how it seemed to me - they had lost the verve of extreme youth, but were not yet expressing themselves.

Much deeper than the basic nebbiolo, but a similar flavour profile - red fruits and pine, smelled dry, but the mid-palate was smooth, lots of tannin, but well buffered - vg

A nig rose petal fragrance, some cedar too, firm and tannic, too young of course, but the substance is evident - obviously fantastic

Hastily produced from the shop's stockroom to make up for so many faulty wines, this was how it should be, broad, ripe and smooth, rich and animale, though still far from being fully expressive
