Very pale straw colour. Very shy nose, some notes of sulfur and gasoline, wet stone, apricots, lime and pomelo, and vanilla. Great complexity on the bouquet. On the palate, this is very dry but rich, with lovely notes of egg custard, dried pineapple, and a pleasant, balanced amount of oak. Everything is in sync here, and this is not a flatulent '05, thanks to the acidity. Linear and precise. Medium-length finish, with notes of licorice.

No particular signs of bricking, still quite a brilliant red. Bouquet of rust, forest floor, brown spices, white pepper, and some muted red fruit -- immensely musky and alluring. Rich and concentrated on the palate. An excellent balance of earth, fruit, and spice. Pleasantly dry, well-integrated tannins. Good finish, and an excellent pairing to roast pork loin.
Pale, watery yellow colour. Nose of lychees, gooseberry, and clover honey. Intensely concentrated, lovely smooth and pleasant texture. Notes of honeysuckle and citrus on the palate. This is what sauvignon blanc should taste like. Painfully dense and lush concentration, a worthy legacy of M. Dagueneau. Simply incredible.
Dark red, with slight signs of bricking. Nose of graphite, mint, and slate. Lovely St. Estephe feel. On the palate, this is silky smooth, with lots of ripeness, and integrated tannins. Excellent deep red and black fruit. Incredible complexity. Sexy, smooth, and suave. Lovely, high quality Bordeaux, which can easily stand up to the first growths that I've had. It seems to be at its peak right now. Excellent minerality.
Pale gold. Creamy nose, notes of toasted bread, coconut, citrus, and white Burgundian funk. Slightly musty, but in a very attractive sort of way. On the palate, this is subtle, and extremely concentrated. Lots of citrus, piercing acidity, and somehow at the same time a palate-coating texture. Not pushy, but shy, and I will guess that this needs much more time to develop; I'm waiting for that Burgundian funk to come out even stronger. Long. Served with three types of French fries (duck fat, truffle, and garlic herb).
Golden. Spicy nose, with floral notes. Stone fruits, as well as a hint of pineapple. Sweet and a good scent of botrytis. On the palate, a slight hint of the usual gasoline, but this is quite dry, with notes of yellow tropical fruits. Great balance, pleasant and approachable. Served with a blue cheese pizzette.
No significant signs of bricking. Smoky, dusty nose; classic aged Bordeaux. Mint, leather, and slight notes of cassis. Some vegetal notes. On the palate, this is austere and leathery, with very muted notes of fruit. Intense, though the palate is slightly watery. Finish isn't too impressive. The tannins are well-rounded now. In general, I'd like a little bit more fruit, though this is as St. Julien in terms of the dustiness as it comes.
Dark purple colour. Nose of figs and other black fruits, sweet, and without a big whiff of spirit. Some notes of cacao and coffee. This is very approachable and fruity on the palate, with relatively muted spirit. Notes of black figs. A liqueur-like texture and finish. A tenor to the bass that is Taylor. Simpler and more primary than the '77. Warming (instead of hot), and I imagine a great fireplace sipper for those cold winter nights.
