    Slightly better than previous week. Developed a little after an hour in glass, becoming a bit port like. Lacks charm.

    Deep crimson. Young, fresh and vibrant. Opulent nose with sweet cherries and fruitcake. Lovely.

    Ex chateau bottle. Lovely bouquet of caramel, coconut and jammy fruits. Wonderfully open and developed.

  • 1970 Château Cheval Blanc 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

    Very interesting to taste alongside a 750ml ex chateau bottle. Cloudier and clearly younger, initially not as forward and open, but developed nicely and eventually matched if not surpassed the single bottle. Wonderful stuff.

    Powerful, dense and thick. Jammy with reserved notes of tobacco, sweet cherries and mocha. Can't help but think it can be even better if given more age or decant time.
