Cloudy red color, denser body than expected, red cherry and baking spice nose, smooth palate of macerated cherry, spice, and a touch of oak. Good length and plenty of time left for cellaring.
Intense and dense and seems to have good stuffing, but the flavors and aromas of licorice and burnt toast were harsher than I'd prefer - some cola and cherry scents would have been a good offset but they did not present themselves. But, some in our group found this to be their favorite.

Was hoping that a good decant and a long dinner would allow this bottle to show something, but it never really opened up, and I'm not sure I'm experienced enough with young Bordeaux to make any predictions about where this is headed. Dusty potent tannins, cassis and tobacco peaking through the long finish.

My first experience with W-S zins, and it won't cause me to reallocate any funds from Carlisle - a little more austere and not quite as brambly as I like my zins. Good black berry fruit, along with hints of cedar, spice, and pepper on the nose and palate, and the heat is kept in check.

Liked it better at the Rosenblum tasting room in Healdsburg than I did at Thanksgiving - somehow these Rhone white-varietals come across as a little harsh with meals - apricot and flowers embroidered with a strong herbal element.

Misplaced on the Thanksgiving table - somewhere I read about muscadet's versatility so I thought it would be addition to a turkey dinner with numerous sides - alas, I say save this for the shellfish dinner on the deck in the summertime. Seashells and mild citrus aromas with a short saline/lime palate that just couldn't stand up to gravy and trimmings.
