Did not realize it was a feinherb but to be frank this wine was rather anonymous. Perhaps it needed more effort to understand it. Will refrain from scoring it.
The WS Auslese is very true to the Mosel terroir as well as to Prüm's style which is very light-weight and kinda thin for an Auslese. Sweetness was more akin to a Spatlese too. Interestingly I rated the previous bottle higher for its weight. Perhaps this is a younger and fresher bottle. Not exactly my favourite style of Riesling and one which definitely demands more from the taster.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tasted blind this certainly isn't your run on the mill Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. For a Rhone Blanc this was painfully young as it does not display any oxidative character yet. Round and rich this is quite a full-bodied white. Very serious wine. Not my favorite type of wine but I can see the quality here.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
I remembered this was actually quite juicy and well-concentrated without being cloying. Would love to drink this slowly with some red meat. Other than that I could not remember much so shall refrain from scoring it.
This was flat out amazing and definitely one of the best Aussies I've had of all time. Tasted blind I though there was no way that this could be a new world, but it was. Supremely elegant in a Cote-Rotie way, this could easily give La La La a run for the money. Pure, fresh, elegant and not overpowering. Outstanding plus.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Whoah, this is a textbook young Gevrey with sappy red fruits and earth which is actually quite drinkable at the moment, especially when popped and poured. The purity and elegance stood out though this isn't a particularly rich and concentrated wine, perhaps due to the vintage. But still this was very fresh and alluring and really makes you want to drink it all up.
