Annual Christmas gift dinner from my wife and I to her parents. The wife cooks and I do the wine.
Course 1: Truffled poporn and spicey walnuts
Course 2: Chilean Sea Bass in a shallot and butter sausce with corn and bacon mix
Course 3: Ribeye's with a mushroom wine sauce with sweet potatoes
Course 4: Cornbread muffin, maple/bacon frosting, and bacon pieces
Great night all together, the wife always impresses in the kitchen and the company was great as well.
NV Eric Rodez Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé 91 Points
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
PNP, dinner with the in-laws.
Light strawberry copper in color.
Nose of strawberry, leaves, a little earth, funk.
Palate of strawberry/ rhubarb pie filling, dried cherry, funk, a little fall leaves, a little hint of pie crust.
The finish is average and good balance to the wine.

2008 Domaine Servin Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre 91 Points

PNP, dinner with the inlaws.
Light gold in color.
Nose of floral, lemon, crushed rock.
Palate of lemon rind, white grapefruit, a little white flower, saline, herb, a little crushed rock.
Finish is above average in length, good balance.
Drink or hold. 50+5+12+17+7

PNP, Dinner with in-laws.
Color dark purple to black in color.
Nose of blackberry, black raspberry, a little bramble, mocha
Palate of blackberry, black raspberry, mocha, a little caramel, graphite, oak spice.
Finish was long in length, new world forward wine in balance, still a little tannic on the tail.
If you like'em big, this is for you.
Good mouthfeel, when this warmed up from 55 degrees to room temperature the alcohol showed a little.
