Balanced palate, with black cherry, clove, and some hay. Nose of iris and honeysuckle.
Dark, inky-black color and berry, nutmeg nose. French oak, black cherry with moderate tannins.
Tart, tannic and bright. Plum, berry, chocolate notes in a watery and somewhat disappointing body.
Slightly unpleasant nose, grassy and berry at the same time. Black cherry, mocha, subtle key lime, and chocolate. Soft tannins, somewhat light body.
Oaky with earthy berry notes. A bit tannic with a nose of currant.
Very pleasant, but still young. Opaque purple color and dense body. Deeply aromatic with dark berry and some herbals. Stiff tannins beg for additional cellaring. Could be substantial.
WOTN. Very smooth, very soft, long finish. Ready to drink now. Current, anise, cinnamon, and vanilla with lingering mocha cherry.
The 2001 Caymus Cab stole the show here. Both the ZD and the Tom Eddy receive strong honorable mentions.
