This lesson focused on defects and deficiencies in wines. After that we tasted blind 8 intersting wines

  • 2008 Pelter Cabernet Sauvignon T-Selection 89 Points

    Israel, Galilee

    Tasted blind. Purple opaque color with white edges. In the nose – red and dark fruits + vanilla. Full bodied a lot of fruits in the palate too. Medium and balanced acidity and medium finish. A good – not exciting wine.

  • 2006 Montes Syrah Folly La Finca de Apalta 92 Points

    Chile, Rapel Valley, Colchagua Valley

    Tasted blind. Purple-black color. In the nose black/ ripe fruits and chocolate. Full bodied and muscular, a lot of fruit and oak in the palate. Predominant tannins, High acidity and long finish. This is a very good wine, even tough too my colleges gave him low scores (approx. 87) I thing it worth at least 92.

  • 2002 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage

    Tasted blind. Opaque ruby-orange color. In the nose fruits ( not much), smoke and flowers. Medium bodied, medium acidity but a bit unbalanced. Soft tannins, medium-long finish.

  • 2005 Mas Martinet Priorat Clos Martinet 91 Points

    Spain, Catalunya, Priorat

    Tasted blind. Impenetrable ruby color. Rich nose with dark fruits, chocolate. Spices, smoke and hints of bret. Full bodied, fruits and fruitiness in the palate too, very consistent with the nose. Soft tannins, medium acidity and medium-long finish.

  • 2008 Lewinsohn Garage de Papa Rouge 91 Points

    Israel, Galilee

    Tasted blind. No one guessed that this one was from Israel. Bright impenetrable ruby color with white shoulders that suggest that it is a young wine. Rich nose with fruits, flowers and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Fruits and chocolate in the palate too, in good harmony with the nose. Medium and good balanced acidity, medium finish.

  • 2004 Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin Domaine Louis Jadot 84 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru

    Tasted blind. This wine was finished. Red-orange color. Oxygenized, with almost no fruit left. Mostly floweriness and leather. Light body, low acidity, bitterness and lack of balance. Short finish.May be a bad bottle ?

    Tasted blind. Ruby-orange color. Nice nose with flowers and farm odors. Light bodied, medium acidity. Good harmony and good balance. Medium finish.

    Tasted blind. Light gold, almost transparent color. Very mineral with hints of fruits in the background. Medium bodied. Low acidity and short finish
