    Clear and Bright. Straw coloured. Creamy nose with sweet ripe fruit, touch of sherbet and white flower with a little spice. Dry, fresh peachy, slightly metallic. Good acidity and slightly bitter finish.

  • 1995 Mas Jullien Coteaux du Languedoc Les Cailloutis 81 Points

    Distinctly brown and slightly dull. Fig nose with a touch of furniture polish and leather. Dry, soft, subtle but still present sweet fruit. Good length but somewhat past it's best. Drink up if you have some.

  • 2008 Domaine de l'Hortus Pic Saint-Loup Bergerie de l'Hortus 88 Points

    C&B. Medium intense. Still a little purple. Morello Cherry nose with dusty, spicy undertones and violets. Dry, clean, berry fruits. Good length and acidity. Nice soft tannins.

  • 2004 Jean-Michel Alquier Faugères La Maison Jaune 90 Points

    C&B. Medium to high intensity. Touch of colour change but not a lot. Nose with dust and blood, violets and pepper spice. Rich, lush bold palate. Sweet fruit at the front but with a great savoury middle. Good acidity, firm tannins.

    Intense, dark. Deep red showing little signs of ageing. Rich complex bold nose. Fire embers, pencil sharpening, pepper. Dry, elegant and classy in the mouth. Rich and smooth with a long finish. Everything in balance - this will last years.

  • 2000 Domaine d'Aupilhac Mont Baudile Le Carignan 88 Points

    Very intense. Little thinning at the edge. Still looking young. Stewed jammy fruits and tobacco on the nose. Dry and lighter on the palate than the nose would indicate. Firm tannins with a somewhat hollow middle for me. Fruity and Tannic.

    Very intense. Deep and dark and just starting to thin at the edge. Quite astringent on the nose. Intense black fruit, rich and spicy. Hints of vegetal and animal bubbling under the surface. Dry, soft, rich, warm and long. Firm tannins.

  • 2009 Domaine de Barroubio Muscat de Saint Jean de Minervois 87 Points

    Clear and bright lemon yellow. Grapey with a touch of ginger and honeysuckle. Spice follows through on the palate but a little short. For some reason I fancied this with crispy fried asian prawns!
