    Dark ruby color. Ripe black cherry/blueberry. Floral. Good acid. Just a touch of heat on the medium finish.

  • 2008 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Momtazi Vineyard 86 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, McMinnville

    Ripe, sexy nose. Flavors of cherry, plum, oak. Tannin is a bit coarse, palate is a bit muted, but the finish is long. Slight heat poking out. Probably needs time, likely to improve.

  • 2008 Belle Pente Pinot Noir Belle Pente Vineyard 88 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton

    Pale ruby color. Very tight, not giving up much at all. Foresty/underbrush notes on the nose. Some reserved red fruit flavors. Tannic but weightless. This needs some time.

    Retasted after being open about 45 minutes. Better. Darker cherry than the murto, smooth. Touch of chocolate to the tannins. Good acid, lovely finish. Still too young.

  • 2008 Belle Pente Pinot Noir Murto Vineyard 91 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

    Reddish purple. Lovely strawberry/raspberry. Slightly tart but juicy, concentrated but weighless. A touch of meatiness/smokiness. Not nearly as tannic as the BP vineyard, but good grip nonetheless. Finishes clean and pure. Really really good, WOTN out of 14 WV pinots.

    Reddish color. Cranberry, funky/musty/VA. Better on the palate, but a bit hollow. Touch of spice. Not impressive.

    Baked cherry, string bean, rhubarb. Thin and hot at first, gets better, cranberry fruit comes through, but still a bit simple.

    Big nose of cherry, spices, vanilla, blackberry. Dark fruit palate, bit of heat at first that fades, oaky now. A bigger, riper, oakier style, but not overdone. Long finish. Better than the Momtazi Vineyard.

  • 2008 Cameron Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge 89 Points

    Not sure if I tried the regular Abbey Ridge, or the Dundee Hills bottling, or if there's a difference -- CT shows both. Beautiful complex nose with earth, pine, herbs. Tart cherries, bit of vanilla, touch of cola. Great balance. Some spice on the finish. Nice.

  • 2008 Beaux Frères Pinot Noir The Beaux Frères Vineyard 89 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge

    Medium red. Layered pure red cherrry nose, with some oaky vanilla, some spice/herb, touch of VA. Palate is pure, deep, tannic, but smooth. A little cola at the end. Very good.
