East Bay Vintners Alliance

I wish I had written down notes, so all this is from memory. The wineries that showed well were:

eno wines - tasted 3 wines and I liked them all.
Stomping Girl wines - they had three really nice Pinots. I wish I could remember all of them.
Prospect 772 - some nice Rhone blends

There was one more Syrah that was good but I can't remember who produced it.

Everything else was average at best. Dashe, JC Cellars, and Rosenblum only tasted a few wines and it seemed to be thier left overs.

This is the first time I have been back to Rosenblum in about two years. The old winery is nothing but a tasting room now. It looks nice but it is all show. All the barrels are empty and the big walk-in only stores some wine for sales.

Rockwall winery (the old owner of Rosenblum) is an old hanger at the old Alameda Navel Air Station similiar to what Rosenblum used to be. It is cool in a very urban sort of way. The 40 foot tall hanger door was open with awesome views of SF.

Cerruti Cellars is another cool looking urban winery but sadly, the wines were not that impressive.

  Nice sweet fruit with a little Syrah backbone. eno is producing some very nice QPR wines.
