A revelation. Seductively sweet perfume of forest floor, spice box, and black fruits. Almost exotic. Tasted blind i thought it was a 82 from St Julien, possibly Ducru. Some even thought it was Conseillante. The window however was short lived - started fading after an hour or so.
Stunning bottle. Completely outshone the left bank clarets with its extraordinary perfume of exotic fruits and spices. Lush and velvety. Hints of barnyard towards the end, but not in the unpleasant sense. Top drawer.
Unmistakable. Everyone unanimously guessed Grange. Dark purple, jammy, ripe, syrupy. As always overly sweet for my taste but this is at a good drinking window right now.
1990 Nicolas Potel Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 86 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Sharp decline from last year. Still some nice notes of honey and wax but seems to be past its prime. Drink up.
