Dark pink. Startlingly black fruit Pinot nose but then wild strawberries in the mouth. Low dosage. Assertively dry mineral finish. I don't know when this was disgorged, but from this bottle, it could have used some time to knit together. Pretty dynamic rose though.

A blend rather than a single varietal and it shows in the relative complexity. Much more interesting mix of citrus and yes, some glue which is strangely pleasant. Rich, good acidity, medium weight.

Quite different from the Lou Maset. Dark, meaty and full of licorice and anise. Balanced tannic finish. Not the best value at the price but really good and the best red wine poured.

2004 Veuve Fourny & Fils Champagne Premier Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs Millésime

Fine mousse. Nice mix of apples and yeast, excellent acidity. Just a bit more focused and fine than the NV Brut if perhaps a little less stony.
