Flight 1 (1 Note)

  • 2000 Gramona Cava Celler Batlle Brut Finca Font de Jui 94 Points

    Spain, Cava

Deep dark golden color. Thin and centered bubbles. On nose intense aromas of pastries, honey, almonds and smoked aromas. The palate is spectacular, winy, mid bodied, carbonic very well integrated, entry palate is like a glove, mild flavors of apple and citrus. Simply excellent and with a few years ahead. At €50 well above of champagnes in that range price.

Flight 2 (1 Note)

  • 2007 Demencia de Autor Bierzo Demencia 92 Points

    Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo

Deanted for 2 hours. Stunning super dark color, opaque, garnet rim. Thick tear, dense tear that inks the glass.
Nose of medium-high intensity, very aromatic, with ripe fruit compote, spices, pepper, varnishes. The palate is full bodied, vanilla, wood still perceived to fully integrate, medium acidity, well balanced, fruity, chocolate, earth. I missed a larger length post-taste, yet not detract from the enjoyment of this great Mencia.

Flight 3 (1 Note)

  • NV Equipo Navazos La Bota de Manzanilla 22 "Navazos"

Spain, Andalucía, Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda

Copper-colored, rusty color. Nose of oxidized aromas, apricot, sweet, honey. On palate feels a bit woody, some greens flavour, remarkable bitterness, rebates, sweet finish. Everybody enjoyed this a lot, even though it was good, not my style of wine.
