    Elegant, layered and very balanced. We can go on and on here but really there is no need. Sheer class.

  • 2007 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 88 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

    Very well made wine, but in effect the buttery, mineral depth that we so much love in Meursault is not here. Its a good white wine, balanced and drinks very well at the monent but its a bit on the shallow end. At the end of the day this is a village and for the village it is very good but for this price tag there is a lot more out there. Drink from now. 88+.

  • 1996 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Clos de la Roche 90 Points

    Mild, light but not simple. Maybe past its best but still quite balance and enjoyable. Good amount of fruit , especilly on the nose but the palate shows its age. It is a bit thin and tails off in the end. Drink now. 90 at best

  • 1996 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques 93 Points

    Once again , just like out previous TN, there was a bit of undiluted CO2 on the palate. Decanting helped remove this, but still raises the question about the quality of the bottle.
    Powerfull, big and serious wine. Deep concentreated nose, and very vibrant, intense on the palate. Very good. 92-93, drink now

  • 2004 Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Romanée St. Vivant 92 Points

    A better showing from last time. We always approach 04s with caution but no need here. Still young and especially on the finish you get a clear tannic end. Nice and lush on the nose. With time this will develop very nicely but not sure if you would ever justify the price tag. 91-92, wait.

  • 2003 Domaine Jacques Prieur Musigny 93 Points

    Just like last time but also with the 99s, Prieur's Musigny's need decanting. They are a lot more dark, brutish, smoky expression of the Musigny parcel vs the other producers we have tried. This is the dark hero, the batman of the musignys if we could draw a paraller there.
    Open elegant deep smoky nose. Its an 03 so the palate reflects the hotness of the year and but again a very enjoyable. For sure you overpay the for the parcel but this is a serious wine. 93, wait.

    Just like last this is an amazing wine. Prob among the finest wines the country makes across style.
