Another outstanding 2009 trocken from Germany but with its distinct personality. Fantastic aromatic nose which can only be from Weil. Very rich and layered on the palate with good minerality on the finish. Not cloying at all. Fairly dry despite the sweetish nose. This might not be everyone's style but if you like a robust style dry Riesling, this is it.

Never seen any notes on this wine before. Almost ready to drink now with sweet red cherries on the nose and an animale profile. Palate was classic Pinot. Elegant and a little light bodied as expected from the Drouhin style. From the vintage, this was a tad austere and had some hard tannins on the finish. Still rather primary. I think this would be better in a few more years.

Seemed rather prematurely aged. Already bricking and displaying secondary aromas on the nose. Can't really identify any spice component but this clearly is a wine of breed and drinking well now. A little sweet on the palate but with good extract. Some drying tannins on the finish though.

Still very tight and not showing much. But within the firm structure and black fruited profile lies the weight and grace of a Grand Cru. Long finish. Hold for at least 5 more years.
