2009 David Arthur Sauvignon Blanc 88 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford
Light color. Yellow hue - very similar in color to the Chard - which says more about the Chard than this SB.
Subtle aromas. Yellow apples, light daffodil. Not too aromatic but I can sense the touch of oak.
Palate shows lovely minerality but I can sense the nice texture as well. Tart attack and some roundness in the middle. Decent but overpriced.

2009 David Arthur Chardonnay 90 Points

Super huge rich mammoth nose. Yet the color is lighter and vibrant yellow. Big fruit, tropical pineapple, cantaloupe, peach, mango and banana. Honey and fresh cotton laced with a dose of oak on the back end.
Palate is balanced first of all. There's a dose of butter on the nose. Rich spice and cinnamon and slat. Has a bit of it all. Floral cream. Tinny.
Finish is nice. Really solid wine. new World styling but not too fat.

Purplish color - slightly pink at the rim. Raspberry, light tar, funky plums - nice extraction. Little hint of classic rust - Old World meets New World defined. Plump fruit with rustic back end. Palate has ripe candied qualities and some cinnamon spice. Creamy blueberry, red rocks, roast red pepper. Sweet tannins and a little leathery. Great mid palate. A start to finish well made bottling. Always highly recommend his Meritaggio blend.

2008 David Arthur Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Points

Really impressive wine. Similar pinkish purple color to the Merritagio. Not massive color - feminine and soft. Really ripe heady big fruit up front. A touch of black rock - I can sense the 10% petite verdot. Candied dark cherry, chocolate, blueberry, creamy cassis. Purple velvety flowers, really great mouth feel. Blue raspberry, vanilla and definitely some rich opulent oak. Culty heady nose. Great rich finish. Some decent acid but lower in general. Some nice enjoyable heat and sweeter tannins again. Drinking really well right now. Grab this and cellar it for a decade and pop on a special occasion.

2007 David Arthur Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147 92 Points

Wanted more here as a whole. The regular 08 estate cab eclipsed this 07 in my book. The color is more rusty and less purple.
Lovely nose. Little less candied and more cherry spice driven. Some heat on the nose though. A little shut down at the time of consumption.
The structure and promise is all there however - great fruit, strong mineral core and an elegant finish.
Much better palate than nose in this case - which is rare. Resolved tannins, again a little sweeter styled.
Long finish. Lower acidity and a little hot. Wonder if this will come around. Save your loot.

2007 Montagna Cabernet Sauvignon Tre Vigneti 89 Points

Muted nose. Spice driven. Cinnamon, all spice - cherry and raspberry.
Big and low in acidity. Weighty and almost a bit reductive. Dark bitter mocha, coffee black berries. A little grip and dusty tannins. Out of whack but some okay qualities. Not worth fifty dollars.
