Yellow. Richer, riper nose with slightly tropical fruit. Big wine, some residual sugar and also some heat. Lush midpalate but earthy finish. Quite different from the other 2 Gruners today. I'm not crazy about the balance.
Medium ruby. Strong dill on nose and palate, like Cabernet Franc. Pleasing texture and weight across the palate followed by a less impressive finish marked by grainy, dry tannins and tartness.
Medium ruby but looks thick and glycerine. High toned and herbaceous. Sweet, concentrated cassis fruit, chocolate, prune and definite alcoholic heat. Large scaled wine with tannic finish. Overdone and internationally styled.
