Medium gold color. Rich nose of oak, warm butter, carmel, citrus and hints of tropical fruit, and minerals. the elegant palate has good body, bright fruit, mineral, oak, and a medium finish. This is a really well made, balanced Cali chard that is distinctive and not overdone.

  • 2008 Ridge Geyserville 91 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County

Dark red purple color. Blend of 72% Zin, 20% Carignane, 6% Petite Sirah, and 2% Mataro. This baby has lots going on, cherry, baked blueberry pie, black plum, some earth and oak balance out the nose. The palate is full of round fruit, black and blue plus tart cherry, not jammy, decent acid. Excellent balance and leaves with a very long finish. This is excellent 91-92pts.

  • 2008 Ridge Lytton Springs 90 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley

Dark red purple color. Blend of 74% Zin, 21% Petite Sirah, 5% Carignane. This wine is very herbal on the nose, mixing in lots of pepper, spice, licorice, and dark fruit. The palate shows dark fruit and has more acid, more tannin, more spice than the "08 Geyserville. Medium finish. While this is very good, I found it too much to the herbal side and I preferred the Geyserville significantly over this.

  • 2008 Ridge Zinfandel Paso Robles 92 Points

USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles

Dark red purple color. 100% Zin. Great nose with ripe black fruits plum, raisin, dark cherry, some florals, and carmel. The palate is bright with lively acid, nice black fruit, some earth and very long finish. Based on this showing, I would love to see more 100% Zin offerings from Ridge. Excellent stuff.
