Zachys - Burgundy Staff Tasting

Bruce Neyers (he of Neyers Vineyards) moonlights in the National Sales Office of Kermit Lynch and led this staff tasting at the retail office of Zachys. He is a wealth of information and, by all accounts, a true Burgundy lover. The 18 wines were divided into 9 flights. All had been opened previously.

My very personal conclusions are the following:

1) In general, I prefered the whites over the reds;

2) 2008 is a spectacular vintage for whites;

3) 2008 reds are quite beautiful and drinking excellently at the moment;

4) Although there was only one red from the vintage, 2009 seems destined to be spectacular for reds.

Quite glad I made this tasting.
