Introduction
I'm a big Rhone fan so I've put together a selection with affordable bottles that I believed could provide a good example of what Southern Rhone wines can provide with bottles from multiple vintages and different appellations.

This turned out to be a great tasting with the older vintages really delivering tonight and showing why you someone may want to let his CdP rest for a good 10 years before opening them...
2009 Les Vignerons d'Estézargues Côtes du Rhône Domaine d'Andézon 86 Points

Very dark color with purple on the edges. Bold fruity nose/palate... too much fruit. (RANK: #10/10)

2007 Domaine Grand Nicolet Rasteau Vieilles Vignes 89 Points

Dark red color, good earthy/fruity nose (cassis?). Good concentration. Enjoyable now, but could definitely use some time to mature. (RANK: #7/10)

Very dark color. Somewhat shy black cherry nose. Good minerality on the palate, but still a little bit too tannic. Not overly sweetened. Revisit in 2+ years... (RANK: #9/10)

This is very good, but it has a long way to go! Complex nose, garrigue, herbs and fresh red fruit palate. A little bit hot, but enjoyable. (RANK: #5/10)

Nice burgundy color, fairly generous earthy nose with a touch of rustic, well balance palate with herbs and a little bit of white pepper. Very nice and a promising futur ahead. (RANK: #6/10)

2003 Domaine les Pallières Gigondas 88 Points

Nice color with hints of brown on the edges. Excellent nose (mushrooms?) with provence herbs and slight barnyard aromatics. A little thin on the palate with slight caramelized sugar hint on the finish. Very good! Drink now. (RANK: #8/10)

2001 Cuvée du Vatican Châteauneuf-du-Pape 93 Points

Dark red color with brown edges. Tremendous earthy bouquet. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium sweet tannins and black fruit-dominated flavors. Long finish. In a great spot right now! My WOTN today. (RANK: #1/10)

This was a great discovery! A perfect example of mature CdP: Dark brown/red skirt. Sumptuous nose that goes on forever. Tobbaco, earth, minerals and smoke flabors. Lots of sediments. Drinking very well right now. Outstanding!! (RANK: #2/10)
