Introduction
A part of the Lieu-dit Cru (my Chicago-based Burgundy group) came together for a Chablis dinner, all Grand Cru from top producers. My expectations were relatively high, and these wines exceeded those expectations by far.
2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Bright fruit on nose, showing apple and lemon. Very clean fruit flavors also show apple to stat followed by lemon and lemon zest. Really great acidity and energy with a great finish.

2002 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 91 Points

Big and ripe fruit showing lots more ripeness than I expected. Bit of oxidation comes through from the middle to the end, not terrible, but still noticeable. Impressive mineraility shows lots of oyster shell and crushed stone. Wish there was more acidity, but that might be the oxidation.

Just reaching a very good point in its development. Dense fruit that shows a great balance of ripeness and austerity. Starts with some apple and pear flavors, then moves to lemon and lime with great acidity and minerality. Layers of interesting flavor. Just entering an exciting point, I expect this will be a wonderful wine for a decade to come.

2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots 93 Points

Nose of citrus, apples, white flowers. Flavors shows similar fruit with lots of acidity and minerality. An incredibly clean and precise wine, this showed a really impressive finish. Also probably just starting to enter its peak drinking window.

2003 Domaine Christian Moreau Père et Fils Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 93 Points

Started with nose of nectarine with pear and lots of flowers. Flavors started as pear and apple, then showed some lime zest near finish. An incredible accomplishment for 2003, this sows really impressive acidity without seeming acidulated. Really great textures. This wine may still be getting better.

2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 96 Points

Sensational in almost every way, I think this wine is starting to enter its peak drinking window, where it should stay for at least a decade. Nose of lemon, lemon peel, orange peel, white flowers. Flavors start with more orchard fruit and then transition towards the citrus flavors over an extended, long finish. Fascinating tasting this Fevre Grand Cru tonight with several of its 2002 stablemates (Preuses, Valmur, Bougros Cote de Bougerots), this one was the most complete amongst an incredibly strong lineup.

2004 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 93 Points

Clean and racy on nose and palate. Aromas of white fruit and lemon. Crushed stone and oyster dominate the palate with really good lemon and lemon peel flavors. Really good minerality and acidity, I would like to have seen a little more fruit depth, so I'm thinking this might be a wine to drink starting now for the next 5-6 years.

2004 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 93 Points

Rich and intense fruit on nose, showing surprising lushness and power for the vintage. Intense flavors of apple followed by lime zest and orange zest. Very good minerality and acidity provides great energy. My single real compliant is a slightly off moldy sense that came across strongly on the nose to start and mostly faded, but never fully disappeared.
