Wine tasting. A bit of sweet baking spice could be coaxed out, but mostly sous bois on nose and palate. Nice earthy flavors but short finish ends somewhat flat. Somewhat disappointing because I've had such good experiences with other 1971s from DRC. Note, this had poor fill.

Wine tasting. Big black fruit on nose and palate. Great structure and I was surprised at how balanced this was toasting today. Good persistence towards finish. Very good, just somewhat monolithic and just moderately interesting to me.

Wine tasting. Wonderful blackberry and black cherry nose with really good pepper and spice. Same fruit on palate, also very nicely complemented by pepper and spice. Not complicated or super long, but very good wine. Probably my favorite wine today in a somewhat disappointing tasting overall.
