Introduction
The was a great event with the appetizer and two seafood entrees on par with anything you will try anywhere. West End really raises the bar for these tasting envents.

2009 Steelhead Pinot Noir 85 Points

Served with veal cheek ravioli. Nose of smoke, black cherry, cranberry, spice. On the palate, black cherry, pie cherry, vanilla. Finishes short and soft. Nothing offensive about this, but nothing great either. Paired very well with the appetizer.

2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley 87 Points

Served with a fresh green salad with bacon vinegairette. Nose of citrus, white flowers, and fresh cut ha. On the palate flavors of grapefruit, lychee, chives, and citrus. Finished crisp and clean. Great pairing.

2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Chenin Blanc Dry Clarksburg 88 Points

Great dry chenin nose with mineral, quince, citrus flowers, and white peaches. On the palate, green apples, white peach, and mineral. Long dry finish. Great pairing with bouillabaisse.

2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Chardonnay Russian River Valley 84 Points

Nose of pears, apples, obvious butter. On the palate, golden delicious apple, oak, and butter. Finishes with a nice mineral kick. This wine was saved by a great pairing with paella, the buttery flavors really played well with the fresh seafood and rice.

2008 Dry Creek Vineyard Merlot Dry Creek Valley 83 Points

Nose of plum, black cherry, and mocha. On the palate, plum, mocha vanilla. Simple short finish. Not a terrible wine, but not something I would seek out.
