Friday, September 16th, ProActive's Project Management team joined at Karlebo Kro for a tasting with the theme "Gorms favourites".

  As usual this is very impressive with its oxidized, toasted and Pinot-heavy style. Great balance with lots of tension.

  Nice and complex white Burgundy with good balance between butter, licorice, slightly herbal notes and acidity.

  More yellow (unfiltered), more butter, more concentration. Faboulous white.

• 2009 Zepaltas Pinot Noir Suacci 92 Points

  Very pure and big Pinot Noir with lots of cool and polished cherry. Nice balance. Suffered though in the company of the 05 Denis Mortet.

  Dark and very concentrated Burgundy. Clearly a very successful effort in a monster vintage. Already drinks well with lots of juice and acidity.

• 2003 Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois 96 Points

  WOW! This was very concentrated and intense, but at the same time sexy and very easy to drink with an almost velvety feel. Great balance and lots of complexity at the moment.

• 2007 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape 94 Points

  Wild and sexy wine which never disappoints with its intense raspberry flavour. On this night though is was beaten by the 2003 Mordoree Reine des Bois.

  Dark, warm and smooth fruit. A crowd pleaser, but a step down from the previous Chateauneuf-du-Papes.

• 2007 Snowden Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 94 Points

  On paper this should've been wine of the night, but it was blown out of the water by the previous 2003 Mordoree Reine des Bois and the accompanying Pomerol. This was probably a bit too young as it showed loads of nice sweet blackcurrant fruit and milk chocolate.

  Another WOW! Very classy Bordeaux with good concentration, dark fruit and nice levels of complexity already. Another 2005 and another winner.

• 2008 Craggy Range Merlot Gimblett Gravels Vineyard 92 Points

  New Zealand, North Island, Hawke's Bay, Gimblett Gravels

  Very nice single vineyard Merlot (same grape as the two Pomerols in the tasting) from New Zealand. Easy to drink, but also with nice balance and some complexity. A great buy.
