Medium lemon, clean developing nose of initially petrole giving way to minerals and tropical fruits (mango). Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium body, full of tropical fruit and herbal flavours, mineral tones shining through, layered, balanced and precise. Long finish, with this pleasant acidity and elegant dry-ness an ideal food wine.
Medium lemon. On the nose green fruits, herbal, yellow plums, fully developed nose. Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol. Aromas of white berries, gooseberries without the tart acidity, yellow apples, citrus, mint. Medium body, fruit and acidity in harmony, extremely well focussed. As Francine said: "crisp and clear as spring water". This fantastic clarity makes this medium body white WOTN. With kingfish and asia salsa verde and pink ribbon salad.
Light ruby. Classic vegetal nose of barnyard and forest floor with primary aromas coming out later. Dry, medium acidity, high alcohol, medium (-) tannins. Secondary flavours like coffee, moccha, mint (eucalyptus?) initially dominate over the strawberries and red cherries. A full body, layered and complex wine, richly structured, soft tannins yet the long finish is initialy quite bittersweet and unbalanced. After 30 min in the glass this improves. Needs decanting or time in the glass to regain balance and for the primary flavours to open up. Francine made quail, guava gastrique, mushrooms and taro puree to go with it.
Light ruby, thin rim. Medium nose of chocolate, dark berries, sweet spice, red fruits. Dry, high acidity, medium (-) tannins, loads of fruit like strawberries, red cherries. Well structured and acidity-fruit-alcohol is well balanced, but it is not overly complex, rather one-dimensional. Medium long finish with soft tannins. More a crowd pleaser. Francine made quail, guava gastrique, mushrooms and taro puree to go with it.

Decanted for 2 hours. Deep ruby-garnet, vibrant ruby rim. Intricate austere nose of small red fruits, cherries, strawberries, cedar, pencil shavings. This nose is deceiving: an impressive palate palate opens up immediate upon contact. Dry, high acidity with some sweet-like warmth to it. Strawberries, cherries, cedar, oak, some liquorice all dance in perfect harmony on a rich texture. Full body, complex and almost understated. In perfect balance (acidity-firm elegant tannins and delicate fruit). Long long finish, with no loss of focus, great length. Smack in the drinking window but can cellar more, 5 years, 10 years may be. I nurtured this bottle for 8 years whilst living and moving in Egypt, Malaysia and now in Dubai. Only regret is that I only have one bottle. Match with Francine's beef stew was near-perfect, it does not get much better.
For the record, no notes made. Medium golden delicacy. Pronounced nose of orange, honey, cinnamon, spice. High acidity and high sweetness in perfect balance, rich aromas of stone fruit, orange peel, honey. Unctuous texture, medium(+) body andvery elegant, never cloying. With trifle a la Francine. Bring on more.
