NV Jose Dhondt Champagne Rosé de Saignée Brut 86 Points
France, Champagne
100% Pinot Noir and the grapes from this bottling are mainly from the 2007 vintage. Medium bright pink in colour. Bright and youthful nose of candied strawberries and cranberries. In the mouth ripe yet tart red berry fruit with good acidity and a slightly aggressive mousse. This is very fresh and fruity and somewhat simple but with some time in glass developed traces of yeast/dough. There are hints of sweetness coming through on the palate as well. This got better as it sat in the glass and warmed up a tad. A tasty young Champagne that could use a few years to develop. Good. 86+
